Control a small robot with hand gestures using the Kode Dot's 9-axis IMU. Tilt to steer, shake to stop.
Overview
This beginner-friendly project turns your Kode Dot into a gesture controller for a small servo-based robot. Tilt the device forward to go, tilt left/right to steer, and shake to emergency stop.
The project uses the built-in 9-axis IMU (accelerometer + gyroscope) and sends motor commands over BLE to an Arduino-based robot chassis.
How It Works
Sensor Mapping
| Gesture | Action |
|---|---|
| Tilt forward | Drive forward |
| Tilt back | Reverse |
| Tilt left | Turn left |
| Tilt right | Turn right |
| Shake | Emergency stop |
The IMU data is read at 50Hz, filtered with a complementary filter, and mapped to servo angles (0-180).
